The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program at Parkway is supported through the collaborative development and implementation of school policies.  All school policies are reviewed on an annual basis with modifications made as needed.  The Parkway Community, at large, is informed of Parkway policies through the School Advisory Counsel, Progress Report Nights, Back to School Information Packets, School Newsletter and the school website www.pwms.osceolaschools.net Policies are reviewed with students through Back to School presentations, publication in the student handbook (agenda) and extended homeroom days.  Input and suggestions on Parkway’s policies are welcome and may be communicated to our IB MYP Coordinator Amy Rousch at amy.rousch@osceolaschools.net

Academic Honesty Policy

The students and staff at Parkway Middle School believe honesty and integrity are an integral part of the school culture and climate. We stand united with the International Baccalaureate Organization and believe that academic honesty must be seen as a set of values and skills that promote personal integrity and good practice in teaching, learning and assessment. In order to meet the standards of academic honesty our school community is encouraged to embrace and exemplify the traits of the IB Learner Profile that demonstrate the academic honesty that we strive for at Parkway Middle School.

Assessment Policy

It is the belief of Parkway Middle School that assessment is an ongoing and systematic process that is implemented in order to evaluate the instructional practices and measure the learning taking place in the classroom. We are committed to providing a quality international education that will develop ableminded global citizens. In order to uphold the authenticity of quality assessment practices, the school community is encouraged to embrace and exemplify the traits of the IB Learner Profile that will develop the high achievement that we strive for at Parkway Middle School.

Language Policy

All stakeholders of Parkway Middle School are collectively language learners.Together we support language acquisition and continue the development in a mother tongue while celebrating different cultures and backgrounds. In order to meet language competencies, the school community is encouraged to embrace and exemplify the traits of the IB Learner Profile that will assist in establishing the exemplary language practices that we strive for at Parkway Middle School.

Special Needs Policy

Parkway Middle School understands and realizes the individuality of our large and diverse population. We recognize that such uniqueness may include obstacles that affect the educational experience of our students. We are committed to meeting the multitude of academic, physical and other needs of our students through our policies and actions across campus. All stakeholders agree that inclusion is a necessity and priority to facilitate the academic success of each and every student. In order to ensure the equitable and high quality education that we strive for at Parkway Middle School our students are encouraged to embrace and exemplify the traits of the IB Learner Profile that will create a positive and judgment-free environment.
